| It occured to me that, since the Stormwind Park is going away with Cataclysm, we should have an open RP event there, soonish, to "say goodbye".
Obviously it will NOT be a "farewell to the Park" IC, since we don't know IC that it is going away... I was thinking more like an open, "Let's have fun and reach out a nature-loving hand to the other races" type event.
What do you think?

| Well, I figure we'd push it to october, since Cataclysm is rumoured to hit in November... and then we'll be done with the Great Hunt and other events.

| OK, here's what I propose:
Let's just pick a date when we believe many will be able to attend. On that evening, as many of us as can will go to the park in Stormwind and simply hang out. No advanced rituals (we could do a prayer circle at some point, if we like), just a festivity.
We send out a general invitation to as many of the other Kaldorei guilds we can (I have mentioned it to the Handmaidens, and talked about it in /kaldorei chat, and others were interested), and see how many turn up. Druids of the Wild, Rainhold Crew, Shadow Sentinels... suggest, please.
As little framework as possible, just a social gathering with food, talking and dancing, at leisure. We don't even need to prepare anything, just show up.
IC reason: The Kaldorei are reaching out a hand to the other Alliance races, in the Alliance capital, to attempt to strengthen the ties between our peoples. And, which we do not tell anybody, to hopefully inspire the others to be a bit more nature-friendly...
I'll put this up in the Handmaidens' forum as well, and we'll see how it pans out.

| OK. I propose we do this on thursday the 7th or sunday the 10th of october. As I said, no complicated backstory, just a simple social gathering. Anybody who wants to tell a story, do a prayer circle or anything like that should be welcome to do so, but I propose no scheduling. If it happens, it happens, when it happens.
The official approach should be one of openness and friendliness, so any who are inclined to look down upon the otherraces will be encouraged to curb those impulses... ICly. If your character dislikes humans, for instance, please come and RP, and play it out like this:
"Stupid huma... ehh, I mean, welcome, friends of the Alliance!" *really big grin*
If your character on the other hand is very enthusiastic aboutthe Alliance, by all means show it.
Bring food, preferrably some stuff for every level. Floorpigs are nice.
And, again, I hope to get as many of the other Kaldorei guilds on board with this as possible, I don't see it as a "Wardens only" event. Please comment!

| I like your idea Naur. I'd go for the Sunday if possible, but I don't mind really. I should be back online properly this Sunday so I'll see you in game then | |

| OK, I've made a calendar invite for the 10th, at 18:00. I'll be there in one form or another, and hopefully I'll be joined by more than just NPCs...
I'll put it on the wow-eu forums as well.

| OK, who'll be there? I will, of course...
Anybody else?
I was hoping we might do a prayer circle around the Moonwell or something, with a prayer held in Common. How about it?
And did anybody have any stories to tell?

| I shall be there BUT I may not have my laptop back by then and my old PC is quite laggy at times... My laptop apparently had a severe case of overheating and needs a complete strip down, may need some parts replacing, and then needs everything reinstalling at a grand total of upwards of £200... ouch... but still cheaper than a new laptop... They said I should have it by Friday/Monday. | |

Damn.. I should be an IT repair guy.. 200 quid for 4 screws for hatch, blowing dust out of heatsink/fans, replacing a 10$ laptop fan in heatsink, add a new thermal paste 5$ and close it all up.. Real cost: 22 pounds + work.. apparently worth 180 quid - takes about from 20 minutes to 3 hours, depending on laptop. About the event - will try to make it, weekends are busy but will do my best =) -Mer | |

| OK, this went pretty much as expected: Good turnout, but heavily harassed by LOLers at the end. So, it pretty much went to show exactly how wide the gap really is between the nelfs and the rest of the Alliance ;-) Great thanks to Sharitha for telling of her own culture clash! This is a link to the original story Naurion told, about how Ursoc lost his tail. /N | |
